Its Peanut Butter jelly Time!

At Jillian's Disco Party there was lots of shakin' it and lots of silly grooves. (It's Peanut Butter Jelly Time) When I sent out the invitations some of the parents took the wording and ran with it! Word was travelin' that Owens' parents were going to dress in their 70's costumes so the rest of us followed suit. (powder blue suit, that is) I think in all we had 4 wigs, some polyester and bling!
-Had to throw in a cute shot of the kids enjoying cake.
One of Jillian's favorite gifts was a dress-up cape and mask from Owen and his parents. (It was purchased at Spiekwerk in Sellwood if anyone else wants one!) The minute she put it on, she raced around the house yelling, "I'm SUPERGIRL!"
What a gift. We all love it, thanks!

Cake Time

Jillian's birthday party was scheduled to take place on January 17th, 2009. She definitely had her own ideas of how it was supposed to go.
#1 I will have a purple butterfly cake with blue frosting and jellybeans.
#2 I will have a disco ball and fun music to dance to.
#3 I will wear my tu tu because Owen likes to say, "Tu Tu, what's a Tu Tu?"

As you will see, I came through on all 3 of these requests with just a little hitch...

The first cake I made Friday night was so easy and fun that I got a wee bit excited and removed it from the baking pan too soon. It came out easy, but when it cooled it fell apart into 5 pieces! EEK. Back to the drawing board. The next one was also simple, but I left it in the pan for 2 1/2 hours. Who knew butterflies were temperamental?

Fight Texas!

Okay, everyone who knows me knew it was going to be posted if Texas won the Fiesta Bowl. Well, all I can say is it was a nail-biter; down to the last 2 minutes of the game. First, we were robbed of playing in the conference championship and then the National Title game. Then Colt McCoy was robbed of the Heisman. After winning this game and handing Oklahoma their only loss of the season by 10 points, Texas deserves a shared national title. Hook 'em Horns!!!
