Oaks Bottom Hour long Excursion part I

We went into Oaks Bottom for an hour this afternoon, just Jillian and I. We saw beautiful flowers, frogs and dragonflies. The little froggy on the stump was almost squished by Jill's hand while hanging on to the log for leverage up a hill. She saw him and we stopped for a while to chat with him. Mommy got about 12 new mosquito bites and Jillian enjoyed walking through all the cotton fluff covering the ground.

Oaks Bottom Hour long Excursion part II

This afternoon Jill and I ventured down into Oaks Bottom to try out her new hiking shoes. We saw a couple frogs and some beautiful dragonflies.

Meet Purple-Dee

Meet the newest member of our family, PURPLE-DEE. Jillian has been talking about a pet for some time and I think she is responsible enough to feed the little guy a few pellets a day. She has also promised to "help" on tank cleaning day. Purple-dee is very happy in his new tank next to Jillian's bed. Welcome home!!!

Newport 2010 and other pics.

John's company did some work for the Aquarium and sent out a bunch of free passes so we got to go for free to see all the fun! Jillian really enjoyed touching all the different Sea Stars.

They also had an exhibit that was called Swamplands. The Crocodile mural, John worked on! Very exciting to see something so big and cool that daddy had a hand in creating. Watch out!

Newport 2010

One of the best parts of the trip was taking Jill to the Newport Aquarium. We walked through 3 tunnels that was glass all around and some on the floor so you could see the fish swimming all around. Each tunnel had larger fish than before; ending with SHARKS!

Beach Trip 2010

We also went to Bruce's Candy Kitchen while in Cannon, but before that we stopped at The Tillamook Cheese Factory. It was early in the morning so Jillian ate a fresh waffle cone ONLY and took some pictures with farmers and cows! Lots of giggles while there.

Cannon Beach 2010 Girls Weekend

Wednesday night Jillian, my mom and I loaded up the car for a girls weekend at the beach. It was so windy at Lincoln City that we didn't even get to the beach till our last day on the way home at Cannon. Jillian and I walked all the way out to Haystack Rock. We saw lots of Sea Stars and Sea Anemone.

Jillian and Mira

Jillian and Mira have lived across the street from one another for a couple years and just now they have really been discovering each other as play mates. Fourth of July they hung out a lot and played. Today, she and Mira wore matching Faerie dresses and played around on the block. So nice to see Jill friending girls, too! Summer should be a blast for these two.

The 4th of July was a big success on Yukon street. We blocked off the street and let the kids go free. There was fingernail painting, plenty to eat, sparklers for all and a firework show at the end. More pictures to come.
