Halloween Party

Just a few cute pictures from my work party. Jillian found her friend Angela and they ran around making cookies and decorating bags and listening to Halloween stories. Mao even came along as a Victorian Mao. The tray of food are "severed toes" we made for dinner and for the kids for lunch at school. (turkey cocktail weenies wrapped in pie crust with a toe nail slice of string cheese) Enjoy Halloween!

And pumpkins, too!

Today was almost too much halloween.

Dia de Los Muertos 2010

Dawn, Chris and Owen came over today to decorate sugar skulls. This was our 2nd year making them and everyone had a blast!
From bottom to top: Dawn, Julie, Chris and John.
The picture at the top is of Jillian helping me mix them up Saturday morning.
The kids painted small pumpkins and helped the daddies decorate a big skull each.
I made Jillian a skull wearing MAO skin! (she loves it, its really not sick.)
Next year we are making them out of plaster of Paris so we can paint them and hang them on the wall!

Texas Family

We had a wonderful gathering on Sunday with the family. Weather was nice, but the mosquitos were out in force! Jillian and I are covered with about 20 bites each and like me, she swells up like crazy. Poor girl. Jillian got to sit in Aunt Sandra's mustang. She loved it. More pics to come soon! Later y'all. (for all you Texans who want a copy, John will be sending each of you an e-mail with pic attached)

hug the ones you're with.

Hey all,

Just got some sad news this morning, via face book. A friend of mine was cycling across the country and was in Iowa. A big truck noticed him and pulled to the center lane so he could get by when all of a sudden the truckers front wheel blew, causing him to make a sharp right and hit my friend. It was a tragic accident and he will be missed.
We had lost touch for a couple years, but re-connected on face book. He had a big heart and even bigger smile. He was doing something he loved and was enjoying life.
Often times we take those close to us for granted. Forget that a hug or a kind word can brighten another persons day.

Take the time to hug the ones you're with. And if you think too much time has passed to call that old friend, you're wrong.
Re-connect.

Sending a big hug to all of you.
