Fishing!

We took Jillian to the trout farm today. She caught 4 rainbow trout which we will probably eat for dinner tonight. Yum!

Family picnic

Went to the yearly family picnic a couple of weeks ago. Jillian had fun throwing the frisbee and practicing her golf swing.

1st camping trip part 2

The beach was a lot of fun. I took Matt out for his first surfing lesson. The kids played in the sand and later went up the large dune. The only bad part was getting Matt's van stuck in the sand... several times. All came out safe and sound in the end.

1st camping trip

I realized I need to catch up on the photos. Back in August we took Jillian on her first camping trip. We went with our friends Matt and Amy and their 2 little boys, Liam and Owen and their dog Foxy. Liam and Jillian got along great, making up all kinds of games to play. We were camped about 20 minutes from the coast so the trip also became a beach trip.

almost a Kindergartener... such a grown-up lady.

She is funny, kind, imaginative, silly, trusting, sensitive, giving, gentle, strong, charismatic, beautiful, sassy, loving, ours.
She is growing up so fast. She makes me proud every day. She gets under my skin.
She is just like John. She is just like me. She is an individual, ready to take on the world.
Look out, world...

Just your average Saturday.

Today in Portland, Oregon, it hit a whopping 95 degrees! Our first 90 degree day of the Summer. Jillian and I went Kindergarten supply shopping with Grandma and then came home to the kiddie pool, Daddy had filled. We laid out for a little while in our bikinis and dipped our toes in the water. John went for an open water swim to get ready for THE SWIM on Labor Day. He then had to go into work, bummer. WE all had a good time this afternoon and grilled up some fresh tuna caught by Grandpa. In the evening, Jillian decided to get into costume for the movie RIO. (hilarious) Tomorrow we are off to a park with a lake. ( and I broke my pinky toe on Friday. not worth the time to explain) Tomorrow is set for 88-90 degrees. Good to see you Summer, even if it is August 20th!!!!

Holy Smokes!!!

This is a link to the new aquatic center at The University of Texas. Built next door and right behind my old dorm. I would have failed if this was there when I went to school.
