SNOW

Well, the snow hit us today, but sort of surprised us by sticking! We had at least 2 inches at my work when I left at 3:50. I wound up traveling in the car for 2 hours! About 1 hour and 10 minutes was just getting to Jillian's school! We made it home and suited up to have a snow ball fight! Missy dog was running and rolling so much that I couldn't get a snap shot. John had to work late so no pics with him. Maybe if its still here tomorrow...

Color Re-Deux

I had messed with bottle dye and dyed my hair black... EEK. Just got back tonight from a friends' place that does hair professionally at Dosha on Hawthorne, Reagen Darling. First she put this color remover on my hair and then added the gorgeous chocolate brown. It's not actually red, just from the lighting. I LOVE IT! Walked in the door and Jillian said, "Mama, you look beauuuutiful." Better than when she said I looked like Missy Dog cause my hair was black! Hhahahahahaahahaha.

Red-Nosed Glad Tidings!

Jillian had her Holiday Program last night with her friends. Although her "besties" weren't there, she sang the loudest and had a great time. Her class sang Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, and Jingle Bells! I'm so proud of her, she really is a little performer!

Devine Intervention

All I can say is that Texas got lucky.

Last year I thought and still think they had the team to take a National Championship. The way Oklahoma screwed up against Florida last year only enforces the fact that Texas got robbed last year. But that was last year.

This year, it's almost as if someone upstairs is saying, "Ok guys, you get your chance this year." Unfortunately, I don't believe they have the same skills as last year. In fact, I would almost have to say that it's going to take devine intervention to win the National Championship. Will I still root for Texas? Of coarse! Anyone who knows me knows that I bleed burnt orange.

New Blog

I've started a new blog for my own creativity. It's called Capture a Day and will be my own photo project. Basically I plan to shoot and post a picture everyday for 1 year. There may be comments about the photo or not, but there will always be the technical info under the photo. You can get to it by clicking the link under our favorite sites. It is also here:

3JT'S Visit the Zoo

We went to the ZOO today and could not pull ourselves away from the new Lion Exhibit! They are so beautiful and so up close. (a little too close for baby Mao's liking) Jillian put her Mao up against the glass and the male lion was watching her the whole time! Creepy.
We all had a good time, but it was very cold. We were all bundled up!

St John's Bridge

One of the iconic landmarks in Portland, Or. It was designed by the same person that did the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. I've been on both and I think our's is better. I took this Saturday between rain storms.

Beauty all around

I took these silly pics of Jillian the other evening. She loved the scarf so much, I had to go buy myself another one! This pic reminds me of the National Geographic photo of the Muslim girl.
Such a beauty.

My Talented Husband

This morning I saw the opportunity to snap some great morning photos. Got John and headed outside. Jillian and Missy were more than happy to cooperate!

Now if we could just photoshop a photo of the hubby in them!

B&W

I can't seem to shake the B&W film habit. Now digital cameras do everything for you and I keep using 25 year old equipment. It also helps to have a great subject.

Night of the DEAD

As most of you know, John turned the BIG 40 on 10/28/09. I had been working on his Surprise Birthday Costume Party for about a year...
I pulled it off! Dawn and Chris hosted the event at their house and it was lovely. Such Amazing people!
John walked in and was shocked! I must say, 40 looks good on him!

Say a prayer

Please say a prayer for the family of a friend of mine from Texas. I just found out that Sherry Rudisell Gonzalez passed away this week. She was only 39 years old. Sherry stepped into my life in High School and introduced me to AA. I owe so much of my life to her.

BIG 40

Just a few picture from our 40 year celebration.

Blue Jay

Monster march was last Sunday and Jillian got to try out her Blue Jay costume before Halloween.

40... the new 39!

We were at Target looking for a gift for Daddy from Jillian. Walking up and down the aisles, Jillian asked me how old Dada was going to be. I said," He is going to be 40."
Jillian said," that's real old Mama!"

We love you John. Hope today finds you youthful and happy. (you know, the opposite of how you always are!!!!)

The finished product! The top picture is the Toporowski family's skulls and the bottom one is Christi. Christi had already gone hme while we were still finishing all the skulls,, so we had to take a picture of hers separately.

Dia de los Muertos

The morning was spent decorating sugar skulls. Christi came over and we all had a good time.

Pumpkin carving

Owen and his family came over Sunday for pumpkin carving. The pumpkins (13) were supplied by Grandma and Grandpa. I think we gave 1 away and carved 8. I should say that the adults carved 8 while Jillian and Owen played. Thanks Grandma for watching them.
