Seriously Dada?

So the other night I was putting Jillian to bed and she wouldn't lay down. I decided to lay in her bed and get comfy with a book to tempt her into laying down as well. That's when she turned to me and said, "Seriously, Dada? This is my bed."

New Food Line

Today John and I went on a bike ride on the Tandem. We rode to the local sandwich shop and had a bite to eat with some of our neighbors that were there. We were laughing about husband/wife stuff and a comment was made about our neighbor eating 2 scoops of Double Bitch Ripple Ice Cream. We all laughed, then I came up with Old Man Bran. I knew John was going to say something so I told him I buy Nag Nougat Candy Bars! We all decided that we should market these new products to ALL MARRIED couples.  For those couples with kids, we recommend Cranky Crunch Cereal. If you have a lazy bones around the house, may I suggest Crack The Whip Corn Flakes?

For Jillian: On your 13th birthday!

There is no picture, just a few words every mom wants to hear, but few ever really do...
Today, this morning, driving Jillian to school, we had just started going over the Sellwood Bridge and were singing along to the Surf's Up soundtrack when Jillian stops and says," MAMA, YOU MY BESTFRIEND."
I asked her to say it again thinking I did not just hear that right and sure enough, "MAMA, YOU MY BESTFRIEND."
I GLIMPSED BACK OVER MY SHOULDER AND SMILED AND SAID, " I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!"
In the back of my mind I was thinking, "How much is this gonna cost me?"

AGAIN, THAT AGAIN!!!

This is the second year that we have joined my mom for her company picnic at Oaks Park. There were a few rides Jillian picked as her favorites to do AGAIN and AGAIN. One being the carrousel, and the other the train that travels around the perimeter of the park. It was a warm day, she lasted about 3 hours. We all enjoyed ourselves and look forward to next year, AGAIN!

Tattoos are Addictive

So, I got this done a few weeks ago! I couldn't let John show me up once he got his bird for Jillian. I had to get one too, the color should be done within a week or so. Of course the butterfly will have blue and purple in it... I THINK I'm finished now. 

Scar not part of the deal, that was from a long time ago at the doctor before it was cool.  Yes, some people are into that, not ME.

The more that know, the more we can try to change history and be a people who don't just sit idly by and let history repeat itself... The Jillian File

These pictures are from the last month. The tattoo pic is from a few weeks ago. Jillian grabbed a pen and decided to add some new ink to my leg. She worked so hard she stuck her tongue out.(just like daddy)  The ice cream pic is from a couple nights ago when it was so hot she would barely even finish her pasta. We walked to Dairy Queen and ordered a kids cone. It was so big she asked to have it in a cup and polished off most of it.(just like daddy)  The last pic is from Sunday. Owen came over for a play date and this is one of the cute shots of Jillian playing play doh at the table. Owen stayed for 2+ hours and the two of them managed to leave the house looking like a TORNADO hit it... Kids are the best!!

Beach time

Summer hit here hard. We went from 50's to 90's almost overnight and never looked back. In order to cool off on one of those scorchers, the family decided to take a trip to the coast. Jillian had a great time digging in the sand, climbing up the rocks and other general mayhem. On one of her walks down the beach she found a starfish that was washed up. Dad wanted to keep it (it was dead) but the masses overruled and wanted to throw it back in the ocean. On the half mile hike back to the car Jillian was falling asleep while riding on Dad's shoulders. We kept her awake long enough to get her strapped into her car seat and I think she fell asleep right away.

JUNO she likes to dance...

The other day I was playing the JUNO soundtrack and the first song is titled, "All I want is you...". Jillian started dancing and swinging to the music so I went and got the camera to record her. I think it was the 7th time I had played the song. She was laughing because the song has words she recognizes like wink, castle, flower, etc. Because she liked it soooo much I made a double cd for the car of some of her favorites... including: Alicia Keys "No One". The kid has taste, I'm just not sure if its good or bad yet...

New Job Update

So, I started my new job this past Monday. Most of the time I spent in other departments to see the whole operation. The best thing about this place has been the attitude of the people. I haven't heard a single bad comment from any of the 35+ people who work there. In fact the common comment from everyone is that this is the best place in the graphics industry that they have ever worked at.
On Wednesday, one of the sales people bought Subway sandwiches for the whole company. On Thursday, donuts were brought for everyone and I was taken out to lunch and welcomed in a toast. Am I dreaming??? Please someone wake me if I am!
